Kamakura & Yokohama — Easiest Day Trips
Both are served directly by N'EX — no intermediate stops in central Tokyo.

Yokohama (Chinatown, waterfront, Minato Mirai): N'EX direct, ~85 min, ¥4,280. Japan's second-largest city, easy half-day.
Both are good options if you want somewhere interesting without navigating central Tokyo on your first day.
Planning Tips
Book in advance for popular routes. Romancecar to Hakone and highway buses to Kawaguchiko sell out on weekends and holidays. Book online before your flight.
N'EX is the hub for beyond-Tokyo connections. It reaches Tokyo Station (Shinkansen access), Shinjuku (Hakone/Fuji buses), and Yokohama/Kamakura directly. For most beyond-Tokyo routes, N'EX is the first leg.
JR Pass holders: Collect and activate at Narita Airport. The pass covers N'EX + Shinkansen (Hikari/Sakura), making long-distance trips very economical.
Same-day arrivals: Factor in customs and immigration time (~30–60 min) when calculating your departure window from the airport.
